Cryptic Crossword Group
We have been contacted by Brian Wreford who is interested in starting and running a Cryptic Crossword Group in our u3a. He has been solving cryptics for over 40 years in publications like the Times, Telegraph and Sunday Times. The essential requirements for taking part are good general knowledge, an interest in language, puzzles and riddles and a bit of perseverance. Also it is generally recognised that crosswords are good for one’s mental health.
The intention would be to have a free taster session to establish whether you would be interested in taking things forward. Brian is keen to pass on his experience and enjoyment of cryptic crosswords and is confident he can teach the subject well and not be boring.
It is envisaged that the Group would be relatively small say up to 8-10 people because of the interactive nature of the subject.
