Western Classical Musical Appreciation Group

A non member has asked whether our u3a would like him to set up and run a Western Classical Music Appreciation Group. His background is as a lecturer in musical education and he plays a cello in the Manchester Beethoven Orchestra. He would cover orchestral,choral and chamber music. He sees this addressing the curious listener with an open mind and a sense of adventure for whom music is more than background

As leader of the group he would be happy to introduce music and lead discussion around its historical,cultural and biographical context as well as some lighter analysis. He would also encourage members in the group to introduce their own interests.

The sessions would be monthly for 2hrs at a day, time and venue to be decided.
