BOOKINGS FOR OUTINGS – Clarification of Procedure
The preferred method of booking is by Credit / Debit card or PayPal on our On-line Tickets page. It is very easy to use and you will get email confirmation of your booking.
Alternatively bookings can be made by using a bookings form and a cheque made payable to Knutsford u3a. Please write the name of the performance or outing on the back of the cheque and send to the event organiser. We will contact you only if your booking has not been successful. If you want confirmation that you have the places you want, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Usually your cheque will not be paid in until two weeks before the event. If an outing is fully booked when we receive your cheque you will be informed and placed on the waiting list.
Places on u3a trips and outings can only be booked for full or associate members of Knutsford u3a. If you need to bring a companion/carer to enable you to take part in a trip or visit please see our Accessibility Policy.
We hope to take bookings for the current outing at our general meetings but, as our outings are proving very popular we cannot guarantee the availability at the time of the meeting. In other words please book early to be sure of a place!
The outings subcommittee hope you like the outings we plan. Please contact Marian Goddard on 07412 936971 or email info@knutsfordu3a.co.uk if you have any ideas or suggestions for future outings.
Trip to Tissington Hall and the well dressing festival, Peak District
Monday, May 18th 2026
Cost £30
SOLD OUT
The coach will leave Knutsford bus station at 9.00am prompt and return approx. 4.30pm.
Welcome to the historic 400 year old Tissington Hall!
We will be having a guided tour of the Hall and then the chance to wander through the beautiful five acre garden including a lovely rose garden on the West Terrace. Care should be taken as there are steps in both the Hall and in the gardens and please note that there is no lift in the Hall between floors.
Afterwards you will be free to visit the 6-8 wells around Tissington village. The Tissington well dressing festival runs from May 14-21. It is one of the oldest and most famous in Derbyshire. The dressings are beautifully decorated boards using natural materials – petals, seeds, pinecones and moss and is believed to have originated as a way of giving thanks for the gift of fresh water.
Refreshments to buy are available in the award winning Herberts English Tearooms and also in the village hall, but you are advised to bring a picnic lunch.
