Various members of the group give presentations, using PowerPoint to show slides. Having been studying twentieth century work for some time, it is quite a change to move to the Art and a little of the History of France.

The Revolution of 1848, the second and third Republics. In Britain: Queen Victoria, Edward V11.

Contemporary European Artists:

Victorian Romantics, Pre-Raphaelites, Aesthetic movements.

Significant Events in France:

Continuing political instability and warfare including, Crimean War, French industrial Revolution. The Dreyfus affair. Belle Epoque (Early 20th Century)
