The group, which is now running its Autumn Series of meetings, warmly welcomes new members – particularly those who are new to cryptic crosswords and who might like to explore moving on from general knowledge crosswords to cryptics. The (free) Beginners’ section of the group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, 2 to 3 pm in The Heath Room, Town Council Offices, Toft Road.
For those who are already familiar with cryptics there is a friendly, informal Improvers section (also free), which meets on the same Tuesdays but earlier in the day – from 11 am to 12 noon at the same venue. This section would also be ideal for crossword fans of yesteryear looking for a “refresher” course.
