The Climate Change Group meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 2.15 at the town hall. Climate change has become a world problem and the young seem to be bringing the subject to the attention of the world.
The small group have held a few meetings – the first was enlivened by the sitting in of Councillor Quentin Abel, whose brief is the environment, on both the Town and Borough Councils. He told us the junction at the top of Adams Hill is the most polluted in the Borough. He has plans to encourage tree planting in Knutsford. Perhaps this, and possibly other community initiatives, is something that the u3a could be involved in. Cheshire East has a climate change campaign and would welcome your views on cheshireeast.gov.uk/consultations.
