This group is specifically for National Trust members, the idea being that we will intially organise outings to two or three NT properties during 2026, all participants will be members so the only cost to you will be the transport.
The dates for our 2026 outings this year are:
- 16th April – Hardwick Hall
- 2nd July – Shugborough Estate
- 13th October – (Probably) Kedleston Hall.

The Shugborough Estate near Stafford

Coach departs Knutsford bus station at 9.15am prompt
Shugborough was home to the Anson Family since 1624, described as a ‘prefect paradise’! Stories are entangled with the exploits and interests of two brothers, Thomas & George Anson, it was their fortunes and social position the shaped Shugborough throughout the 18th century.
We will be able to explore the sweeping parkland and the Georgian mansion includes the servants quarters, as well as the world of glamour and royalty in the apartments of Patrick Lichfield, 5th Earl, and fashion photographer including the room where Princess Margaret stayed!
There is good Tea rooms / cafe and a shop.
The outing will be £17 this time due to fuel hikes. But I hope you all feel it’s good value, anyone can join the NT group you only need to be member of Knutsford u3a and a member of the National trust
