‘Hidden Talents’ – 23rd January

Our next ‘Hidden Talents’ presentation will be on Thursday 23rd of January at 2:15pm at the Knutsford Methodist Church. Please aim to be seated by 2pm.

Alan Ingram will give his talk “From Shire horses to jet engines” 

He will give a talk on the development of the modern jet engine. The technical side will be kept to a bare minimum, This will be the story of the men and women involved in its creation; the blood, sweat and tears of the scientists working on it. The only engines that proved successful resulted from pushing the boundaries of science and overcoming a myriad of teething problems that required vast fortunes to be spent. Their eventual success can only be described as a modern miracle.
