Welcome to the Knutsford and District ‘University of the Third Age’ Website.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, our U3A activities have been very limited over the spring and summer. However, although we have not been able to come together in person, quite a number of our Activity Groups have been active using Zoom or other means to keep in touch and keep learning. If you click on a particular Activity Group, you can see whether they are currently active in any way. For more information on using Zoom please click here.
The Committee have been meeting regularly by Zoom, and carrying out all the background work that any organisation needs doing. We are now at the point that some of the outdoor Activity Groups, such as walking, have restarted and we have devised risk assessments to meet the needs.
At this stage, those Activity Groups that meet indoors are not yet able to restart physically. Once the various venues complete their own risk assessments and guidance, then we would be in a position to know if groups would be able to reconvene once more in those venues. There will need to be adjustments to keep us all safe. Those that meet in members’ homes won’t be able to do so while the government limit of 2 households meeting indoors continue.
It will be some time before we can hold our monthly Members Meetings, but we have started to offer regular Zoom talks to our members as listed here. As you’ll know from the last Kanuta, we are extending your membership until April next year. We hope that we can gradually build up the range of U3A activities over the autumn, but obviously we have to operate within the guidance and keep us all safe.
